Calculation of Acreage

This is covered in the following explanation in the Survey report.

Memorandum that whereas in the aforesaid Survey of the Customary Lands the number of acres are sett downe but onely according to estimacon it is to be understood that an acre of Arable land is I that pte commonly estimated to be soe much land as it is ordinarily plowed by one plowe in three dayes, And an Acre of Meadowe soe much as it is ordinarily used to mowed by one man in two dayes. If it be thought necessary to have more p’cyse knowledge of the true number of Acres of the said Copihold Land it can be done ine other Ways but by measuring them wch will require more tyme and cost.
