1803 13 Feb - baptised at St Michael's church Ashton under Lyne: Born Jan 12 Chr Feb 13 Hulley
Benjamin s. of James and Sarah of Glodwick spinner.

1822 29 Aug - shown in Court report in The Times -
Joseph Mayall 24 was charged with killing and slaying Joseph Wimpenny at
Prestwich-cum-Oldham on 3 June (1822). James Garside 22 and Benjamin Hully 19
were charged with aiding and abetting Joseph Mayall. Fight in Red Lion - Garside and
Hully only seemed to watch, the same as others; they never meddled. Garside and
Hully would not let any one enter the ring. Garside and Hully said ‘ one to one is fair
play’. Garside and Hully found not guilty, Mayall found guilty.
