The information shown in the above family tree has been derived mainly from parish registers, wills and trades directories. Unfortunately the registers of Tatham and Bentham churches are incomplete with several gaps in them in the 16th and 17th centuries, thus making the task of producing a tree very difficult.

The first members of this family are almost certainly related to those shown in one of the Lancashire trees - Lancs08 - but because of the gaps described above no definite proof has been found. The only means of determining the correct makeup is for a detailed search of other records covering the area in the 16th and 17th centuries. These would include land records and local manorial court rolls. This task is probably best for a future researcher who lives near the areas concerned and has access to the County Record Offices.
