Descendants of James Hulley born 1679 at the One House, Rainow

The 17th and 18th century surname of this tree (reference Ches04) varied between Hulley and Hooley, with all members being descendants of Jasper Hulley of the One House. Jonathan the eldest son of James, the head of this tree retained his Hulley surname and Jasper the youngest son called himself Hooley. Early members lived at Macclesfield Forest where Jonathan Hulley worked as a Beerhouse Keeper between 1757-1768. , whilst the 19th century saw most members of this tree living at Sutton.

Jean Marsden has provided details of the second wife and children of Joseph Nixon born 1746. She was Hannah Hulley born in 1750 and her details and those of her 5 children are shown on the Ches02 family tree.

Latest developments September 2008

Additonal information has been received from Donna Peach in relation to Jasper (James) Hulley born 1884. It has been alleged that he fathered 16 or 17 children, some of whom by his sister-in-law Lily Hudson. Full details are shown in his Notes.

Donna Peach has provided additional information about the descendants of Jasper (James) Hulley born 1884. He had 6 children by Ethel Hudson between 1912 and 1922 and a second spouse - Matilda Dinsmore - in 1941. These have been added to this FT.
