parish of Budworth which is the Great in
the county & diocese of Chester Farmer

and being sworn on the HOLY EVANGELISTS, alledged and made Oatrh
as Follows, That he is of the Age of twenty one
Years and upwards, and a batchelor, and intends to marry
Ellen Becket of the Township of Hulme Wal-
-field in the parish of Astbury in the county &
diocese of Chester aforesaid - - - -
aged twenty one Yaers and upwards, and a spinster

now knowing or believeing any lawful Let, or Impediment, by reason of any
Precontract, entered into before the Twenty-fith day of March, One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Four, Consanguinity, Affinity, or
any other Cause whatsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage, And he
prayed a Licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the parish church
of Astbury - - - - - - - - - -
aforesaid. In which said parish of Astbury - the said
John Hooley further made Oath, That the said Ellen
Becket hath had her usual abode for the
space of Four Weeks last past.

1776 29 Oct - Manchester Mercury - WHEREAS LAWRENCE HOOLEY, of Manchester, in the County of Lancaster,
Staymaker, on the 28th day of October Instant, assigned all his estate and effects unto Mr. Thomas
Preston, of Manchester, Whalebone Cutter, and Mr. James Renwick, of the same place, Merchant, in
Trust for the Benefit of all the said Lawrence Hooley’s Creditors, upon the Terms mentioned in the Deed
of Assignment.
Notice is hereby Given
That the said Deed of Assignment is now lodged in the hands of Mr. Milne, Attorney, in Manchester, in
order to be executed by the said Lawrence Hooley’s Creditors, who are at the Time of executing it, to
leave an account of their respective Debts with the said Mr. Milne. And all Persons indebted to the said
Lawrence Hooley, are required to pay their respective Debts to the said Trustees, or one of them, or to the
said Mr. Milne, or they will be sued without any further Notice.
