been placed in this family because he had children born between 1767 and 1787 whilst living at
Rowland, similar to his brothers Francis and William.

WILL of MARY HULLEY Derby March 1837 PROB 11/1874

In the name of God Amen. I MARY HULLEY of Rowland in the parish of Bakewell in the County of
Derby Widow being weak in body but of sound mind and memory praised be God for the same do make
this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say, First I will and direct
that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid and discharged by my Executors
hereinafter named. I give and bequeath unto my son JONATHAN HULLEY who now resides with me
all and every of my personal estates at Rowland or elsewhere of what nature or kind whatsoever they
may consist of at the time of my decease to be at his disposal and lastly I do nominate constitute and
appoint my son JONATHAN HULLEY sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof
I the said Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this Fourteenth day of July in the Year of Our
Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Two. MARY HULLEY X her mark and seal.

Signed sealed published and declared by the herein named Testator MARY HULLEY and for her last
Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of
each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. JAMES TISSERINGTON. JAMES HULLEY.

1837 02 Mar - Proved at London 2 March 1837 before the Judge by the oath of JONATHAN HULLEY her son and sole
Executor to whom administration was granted having been first sworn by commission duly to administer.

It is assumed that William Hulley who married Mary Milner in 1777 at Bakewell was born c. 1745-50 Because the registers of Great Longstone church are missing between 1734 and 1765 it is not possible at this stage (April 2000) to verify this event.

in this Parish.

1778 7 Jun - son John baptised at Great Longstone church: John son of William Hulley of Rowland.

1781 28 Oct - son William baptised at Great Longstone church: William son of William Hulley of Rowland.

1786 20 Aug - son Jonathan baptised at Great Longstone church: Jonathan son of William Hulley of
Rowland.

1788 - son George born at Hassop. this person has been provisionally placed in this family subject to further
research. The 1851 census of Adel, north of Leeds - see below - gives his birthplace as Hassop, which is in
between Rowland, Great Longstone and Baslow. An analysis of the Hulley families living in the area at this
time and producing children indicates that William and Mary may be his parents.
