 rest residue and remainer of my Effects Both Real and Personall
 of what nature or kind soever, Whatsoever or Wheresoever I give
 to my Son John Hully and His Heirs Chargeing him or his heirs
 with the payment of all my just Debts Funeral expences and the
 Legocyes herin after mentioned. Viz I give to my beloved Wife Ellin

 In the first place I do give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeththe Wife of Thomas Dowbiggin the sum of Four Pounds yearly
 (being the Interest arising from One Hundred Pounds hereafter

 22. Sarah Hully 
Note no baptismal record has been found for this person. She has been placed in this family group because of the evidence from her marriage entry - see below. Mary was
 her sister who married John Tunstall in 1775. The relationship of Thomas Hully is less
 clear; he may have been an elder brother but more likely to have been a less close
 relation. A Thomas Hully of Tatham, son of Francis of the same, weaver, is shown in the
 184-85 list of Free Burgesses of Lancaster 1668-1840 .

 of Bentham and County of York Linen-weaver being of
 sound, perfect and disposing Mind Memory and
 Understanding (praised be to God for the same) do make
 publish and ordain this my last Will and Testament
 in manner and form following, that is to say,
 In the first place I do give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeththe Wife of Thomas Dowbiggin the sum of Four Pounds yearly
 (being the Interest arising from One Hundred Pounds hereafter
 by me given and bequeathed) to be duly paid to her by my Executor
 hereafter named during the natural Life of her Husband Thomas
 Dowbiggin if she happens to survive her said Husband, and also
 in case she survive him the said Thomas Dowbiggin I do bequeath
 the said Principal sum of One Hundred Pounds to my aforesaid
 sister Elizabeth Dowbiggin to be at her Disposal if she so long
 fortune to live, but in Case of her Death before him the said Thomas

 order and direct shall be paid by my Executor at the End of

 In the name of God Amen. I Christopher Hully of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster
 linen manufacturer being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
 do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say
 As for and concerning my two dwelling houses and workshop situate standing and
 being in Lancaster aforesaid and in a certain street or place there called Mackerall
 street or Spring garden with the appurtenances I do hereby give and devise the same
 and all my estate and interest therein both at Law and in Equity unto and to the use
 of my two sons William Hully and Christopher Hully their heirs and assigns for ever as
 tenants in common and not as joint tenants And I do hereby give and bequeath unto my
 beloved wife Jane the use and enjoyment of such a feather bed bedstead bedhangings
 two pairs of sheets and bedcloathes for one bed and of such other household furniture
 as she shall chuse and as shall be no more than sufficient and proper for furnishing a
 room for her own residence and occupation during the term of her natural life if so long
 she shall remain unmarried And I do hereby also give and bequeath unto her my said
 wife out of my personal estate one clear annuity or yearly sum fifteen pounds yearly and
 every year during her natural life if so long she shall remain unmarried to be paid and
 payable at or upon the feast or days of the Nativity of our Lord Christ the Annunciation

 hereby give and bequeath unto her out of my personal estate one clear annuity or

 hereby give and bequeath unto my elder daughter Elizabeth now the wife of Edward

 1800 29 Jun - son John married at St Mary's church Lancaster: John Hully and Elizabeth Mehtrum (IGI). 1803 7 May - brother Thomas's Will proved:On this Seventh Day of May one Thousand Eight Hundred and three this Will was
 proved in Common Form and Christopher Hully sole Executor therein named was
 sworn well and faithfully to execute and perform the same and so forth and that to the
 best of his Knowledge and belief, the whole of the personal Estate and Effects of
 which the above names Testator died possessed did not in real Value amount to the
 sum of Three Hundred Pounds

 1811 21 Jan - died at Lancaster. 1811 26 Jan - Lancaster Gazette - DIED - On Monday, in the 80th year of his age, Mr. ChristopherHully, for nearly sixty years a respectable sacking and twine-manufacturers, in this
 town. He was a truly industrious man, and his death is much regretted by his family
 and friends.

 In the name of God Amen. I Christopher Hully of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster
 linen manufacturer being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
 do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say
 As for and concerning my two dwelling houses and workshop situate standing and
 being in Lancaster aforesaid and in a certain street or place there called Mackerall
 street or Spring garden with the appurtenances I do hereby give and devise the same
 and all my estate and interest therein both at Law and in Equity unto and to the use
 of my two sons William Hully and Christopher Hully their heirs and assigns for ever as
 tenants in common and not as joint tenants And I do hereby give and bequeath unto my
 beloved wife Jane the use and enjoyment of such a feather bed bedstead bedhangings
 two pairs of sheets and bedcloathes for one bed and of such other household furniture
 as she shall chuse and as shall be no more than sufficient and proper for furnishing a
 room for her own residence and occupation during the term of her natural life if so long
 she shall remain unmarried And I do hereby also give and bequeath unto her my said
 wife out of my personal estate one clear annuity or yearly sum fifteen pounds yearly and
 every year during her natural life if so long she shall remain unmarried to be paid and
 payable at or upon the feast or days of the Nativity of our Lord Christ the Annunciation
 of the Blessed Virgin Mary the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist and the feast of Saint
 Michael the Archangel by four equal payments the first payment thereof to be made
 upon such of the same feasts or days as shall happen next after my decease Provided
 always and it is my will and mind and I do hereby accordingly order and direct that if
 my said wife under the last will and testament of her late father William Miniken
 deceased shall become entitled to receive the legacy or sum of one hundred pounds
 given or bequeathed unto her at or upon the decease of her mother Bridget now the
 wife of Mark Crow who is now living then and in such case and from thenceforth I do
 hereby give and bequeath unto her out of my personal estate one clear annuity or
 yearly sum of ten pounds only yearly and every year during her natural life if so long she
 shall remain unmarried to be paid and payable on the feasts or days and in manner
 aforesaid instead of the said annuity or yearly sum of fifteen pounds which from
 thenceforth is to cease and not be paid And it is my will and mind and I do hereby
 accordingly order and direct that the said annuity or yearly sum of fifteen pounds or ten
 pounds hereby given and bequeathed unto my said wife shall be accepted and taken
 by her in lieu and full satisfaction of the dower or thirds at the Common Law which she
 may become entitled to out of my said dwellinghouses and workshop or my real estate
 or any part thereof otherwise that the same annuity or yearly sum shall sink or not be
 paid to her And I do hereby give and bequeath unto my daughter Bridget Hully one
 clear annuity or yearly sum of ten pounds yearly and every year until she shall attain her
 age of twenty one years for her maintenance and education and upon her attainment
 to that age I do hereby give and bequeath unto her the sum of two hundred pounds But
 if in the mean time she shall depart this life leaving a child or children of her body
 lawfully to be begotten and then living in such case I do hereby give and bequeath the
 same sum of two hundred pounds unto and equally amongst such her children share
 and share alike if more than one and if but one then unto such only child And I do
 hereby give and bequeath unto my elder daughter Elizabeth now the wife of Edward
 Adlington the like sum of two hundred pounds except only so much thereof or such
 sums of money as already have been paid by me or as shall at any time or times
 hereafter be paid by me or the executors of this my will on account of the costs and
 expences of or concerning a certain action at Law lately commenced and carried on
 by me against the said Edward Adlington wherein a verdict was given for me at the last
 General Session of Assizes at Lancaster aforesaid with the sum of two hundred
 pounds as damages The same legacy to be paid and payable when my said daughter
 Bridget shall have attained her age of twenty on years or upon her decease which
 shall first happen And it my will and mind and I do hereby accordingly order and direct
 that the legacy or sum of money hereby given and bequeathed unto my said daughter
 Elizabeth shall not be subject or liable to the debts engagements forfeiture control or
 disposal of her said husband in any wise and that her receipt alone notwithstanding
 her coverture shall be a sufficient discharge for the same or for so much thereof as for
 which such receipt shall be given or as therein shall be expressed to be received And
 at the decease or marriage again of my said wife which shall first happen I do hereby
 give and bequeath unto and equally between my said two sons William Hully and
 Christopher Hully all my said household goods and furniture the use and enjoyment
 whereof is hereby given and bequeathed unto my said wife during her life if so long
 she shall remain unmarried as aforesaid And as for and concerning all the rest
 residue and remainder of my household and other goods chattels ready money
 securities for money and personal estate of what kind or nature soever the same be I
 do hereby give and bequeath the same unto and equally between my said two sons
 William Hully and Christopher Hully share and share alike subject only to the payment
 of all my just debts my funeral expences and the charges of the probate of this my will
 which I do order and direct to be paid and discharged in the first place out of the same
 And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said two sons William Hully and Christopher
 Hully executors of this my Will and I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by
 me heretofore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness
 whereof I the said testator Christopher Hully have hereunto set my hand and seal this
 twenty-fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and

 proved in common form and William Hully and Christopher Hully both of Lancaster in
 the county of Lancaster Linen Manufacturers the Executors herein named were sworn
 well and truly to perform the same and so forth - That Christopher Hully the Testator
 within named died on the twenty first day of January last And that to the best of their
 Knowledge and belief the whole of the personal Estate and Effects of which the
 said Testator died possessed of within the Archdeaconry of Richmond in the Diocese of
 Chester did not in real Value Amount to the sum of six hundred pounds

 1794 14 Feb - made Will:I Thomas Hully of Beck-grains in Mewith in the parish
 of Bentham and County of York Linen-weaver being of
 sound, perfect and disposing Mind Memory and
 Understanding (praised be to God for the same) do make
 publish and ordain this my last Will and Testament
 in manner and form following, that is to say,
 In the first place I do give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeththe Wife of Thomas Dowbiggin the sum of Four Pounds yearly
 (being the Interest arising from One Hundred Pounds hereafter
 by me given and bequeathed) to be duly paid to her by my Executor
 hereafter named during the natural Life of her Husband Thomas
 Dowbiggin if she happens to survive her said Husband, and also
 in case she survive him the said Thomas Dowbiggin I do bequeath
 the said Principal sum of One Hundred Pounds to my aforesaid
 sister Elizabeth Dowbiggin to be at her Disposal if she so long
