1. William Hulley

No birth date is available for this person. He is shown on the marriage certificate of John Hulley and Betty
Carter dated 18 Oct 1841. ie

1841 18 Oct - remarried at St Chad's church, Saddleworth: John Hulley of full age Widower Slubber of Mans (father
William Hulley Clothier) and Betty Carter of full age Widow of Hobhole (father John Lockwood Joiner) John
Hulley signed; Betty Carter made her X mark. Witnesses Buckley Holdon, Samuel Thorp.

Records exist for Hully christenings and burials for Mans, Saddleworth from Feb 1728 up to 1881. It is
assumed that William Hulley was a member of this line as his descendants are recorded as living there in
1841, 1851 and 1881 censuses.


2. ?James Hulley

?1759 - born at Saddleworth? - this has been provisionally assumed to be correct pending further evidence. He could
be a brother of John born 1773. A James Hulley was a witness to John's marriage in 1799 and a James Hulley
lived at Broadmeadow with his wife Hannah in 1788 and 1789. (see Paf Yorks02) John's father was called
William Hulley and was a Clothier. This information has been taken from John Hulley's 2nd marriage certificate
dated 18 Oct 1841.

1797 31 May - St Chad's marriage registers - James Hulley witness to Buckley/Hall marriage.

1798 31 Jul - St Chad's marriage registers - James Schofield and Dorothy Hulley both of this parish James Hulley -
witness.

1799 01 Apr - St Chad's marriage registers - John Hulley and Betty Winterbottom both of this parish James Hulley -
witness.

1802 1 Mar - St Chad's marriage registers - James Hulley witness to Whitehead/Whitehead marriage.

3. ?Dorothy Hulley

born at Saddleworth? - this has been provisionally assumed to be correct pending further evidence. She
could be a sister of John born 1773 and of James. A James Hulley was witness to the marriages of Dorothy
Hulley and James Schofield in 1798 and of John Hulley and Betty Winterbottom in 1799 both at St Chads.
John's father was called William Hulley and was a Clothier. This information has been taken from John
Hulley's 2nd marriage certificate dated 18 Oct 1841.
