This family tree covers a family who lived at Ecclesall Bierlow in the early part of the 19th century and moved to Handsworth then to Hoyland Common later. The men were almost all employed as labourers or coal miners. Unusually, no trace of any of them has been found in the 1901 census to date.
The following entries have been found in Yorkshire BMDs from Find My Past;
Marriages 1839 - Mary Hulley and John Gibson (aka Gilson); 1840 - Sarah Hulley and William Eastaugh; 1841 - Francis Hulley and Jane Tindall; 1844 - Elizabeth Hulley and Thomas Wilkinson.
Burials 1841 - Christopher Hulley Infant Sculcoates; 1844 - Christopher Hulley 1 yr Sculcoates; 1849 - Jane Hulley 43 Sculcoates; 1850 - Francis Hulley 42 Sculcoates; 1852 - Ruth Hulley 77 Sculcoates.

The only references found in online 19th newspapers are two for Thomas Hulley, b.1818. The first one refers to a theft of two of his flannel shirts and some stair carpeting; and the other to his duties as an auctioneer's assistant.
Minor additions have been made to this FT including Sykes, Goldthorpe and Elson entries.
