Noverre’s Room, which was decorated very tastefully for the occasion. Upwards of 200 persons were
present, and there were more applications for tickets than the room would accommodate . Several of the
fashionable dances of the season were performed by Miss Hulley’s juvenile pupils, whose dancing we
understand reflected great credit on their preceptress. Mr. D. Plane and Miss Hulley opened the ball,
which was kept up with great spirit until an early hour in the morning. The refreshments, which were of a
superior description, were supplied by Mr. W. E. Bales, confectioner, Market Place.
