Richard married Ann Brangan daughter of Isaac Branghan and Ann Burchill in 1809. Ann was born in 1786 in Bandon, Co. Cork Ireland. She was christened ¹ on 12 Jul 1789 in Ballymodan parish church Bandon, Cork. She died in Dec 1844 in Clumber, near Grahamstown.
